The TRIFECTA for getting sh*t done no matter how depressed or anxious you’re feeling…
Do you get frustrated AF when you try to change your habits over and over but just don't?
I know you’ve been there.
We ALL have.
You say you’re going to do something new. Start a new habit.
You think to yourself, today is the day that I’m really gonna:
Start a yoga practice
Eat more veggies than sugar
Actually wake up when my alarm clock goes off and have a productive morning.
But no matter how good your intentions were or how many alarms you set - nothing happens.
You don’t do it.
AGAIN.
So you beat yourself up for being lazy and undisciplined and vow to to the same thing tomorrow.
*NEWSFLASH*
You’re NOT lazy and undisciplined.
If you’re trying to do something over and over again - what you’re missing is the TRIFECTA, not more willpower.
You’re missing the three pieces you must have in place in order to get started with a habit no matter how depressed or anxious you're feeling.
The reason that you’re feeling frustrated and beating yourself up is that nobody's talking about what it really takes to form habits and start making lifestyle changes that are really going to last.
We look to examples from Hollywood where you see the main hero decides to make a change, to finally get motivated and clean things up.
Cue the moving soundtrack and one montage later they’re an entirely new person.
What I need you to get, what I want you to know, is that if you're not following through it is NOT because you’re lazy or unmotivated.
This has nothing to do with being disciplined or having willpower.
You’re missing a piece of the trifecta.
The trifecta for getting shit done no matter how you feel.

Let’s take the example of starting to change what you’re eating to really take control of your mood to walk through the pieces of our trifecta.
1. Identify your WHY
Are you setting a new goal because you should? Because everyone else has told you it’s good for you? Because you know that you should start showing up better and taking better care of yourself? Or are you doing it because you WANT to? Because you have a deep and burning desire to dig deeper into the core of who you are? Because you’ve identified that starting this habit or doing this new thing is going to move you in the direction of your happiest, highest, best self?
FUCK the shoulds. Get clear on what it is you REALLY want. How is changing what you’re eating going to make you feel? What’s it really going to do for you? That’s your why!
2. Break it dowwwwwwwn.
One of the biggest reasons we fail to start taking action is because we don’t break it down. If you’ve decided to start changing your diet, that doesn’t mean that your goal for tomorrow should be ‘start diet.’ You’ve got to break it down into super actionable, buildable steps. Maybe that looks like making a shopping list today, going grocery shopping tomorrow, prepping a bunch of veggies the following day and THEN focusing on adding veggies in the day after that.
Successful women, women who step up and radically take control of their mood don’t set themselves up for failure. They’re realistic with their plans and break them down into step by step bits.
3. Master your mindset
If you’re clear on the vision and you’ve broken down the steps but you’re still not making progress - you’ve got a mental block, babe. A belief or mindset that’s telling you over and over again that you can’t do this. Mental blocks sound like “I’ve tried this before and failed, this is just who I am.”, “If I change how I’m eating then I won’t be able to eat with my family or go out with the girls.’
You’ve got to identify the thoughts and beliefs that are keeping you stuck. Examine them, identify where they come from and most importantly ask yourself if they’re serving you. If not, it’s time to chuck em and bring in a whole new set of beliefs that empower you, make you feel motivated and on fire, and set you up for nothing but success.
Actually creating healthy habits and taking control of your mood has NOTHING TO DO WITH DISCIPLINE OR MOTIVATION.
It has everything to do with making sure that you have what you need to set yourself up for success.
When you start to implement the Trifecta, piece by piece you will see a dramatic difference.
So what are you waiting for?
